Vicky Knowles is the creator and official portrait artist of Wibbley World: “a chimerical place where big-eyed babies, aberrant animals, and other curious creatures from all walks of whimsy reside, and (most importantly) where nothing bad ever happens. My style, which defies categorization, has been simultaneously described as “cute,” “scary,” and “surreal.”
Drawing and painting since childhood (just like everybody else!), I grew up in New Vernon, NJ, and graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in Studio Art and Psychology. I continued my education at the School of the Arts in Southern France (the school was located in a small village whose name apparently has been trademarked by a clothing manufacturer whose logo is an alligator, so I'm not allowed to mention it here), The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art in Dover, NJ, The School of Visual Arts, NYC, and Parsons School of Design, NYC.
Selling my work online since 1999, I specialize in small format oil paintings and colored pencil drawings which appeal to both adults and children. My eclectic creations have been featured in numerous exhibitions and publications.”
