Ricardo "Liniers" Siri: a Celebration of Illustration!

Tues. Aug 14th 6:30 - 8:30PM  RICARDO LINIERS SIRI at the Lions CLub, Greenwood Gardens, Peaks Island

“From Buenos Aires to the New Yorker: comics, Illustration et al…”

An evening celebration of Illustration with "Liniers"!

News Alert! Liniers cartoon to be syndicated by King Features, so will be available to Americans soon!

Lucky for us, Argentine Ricardo “Liniers’ Siri has been teaching this year at the Center for Cartoon Studies in White River Junction, VT and will be joining Illustration Institute to give an evening presentation, giving us a chance to follow his career. Well known internationally for his comic strips, Liniers also writes and illustrates picture books including “ Written and Drawn by Henrietta” and The Big Wet Balloon, a Candlewick TOON picture book in simultaneous Spanish and English-language editions. Liners just last month won an Eisner award for his book Good Night, Planet. He has illustrated New Yorker covers, album covers and collections of his travel journals. Welcome him to Maine and enjoy this rare opportunity to meet an international artist.

Free and open to all!

Historical Greenwood Gardens, cared for by the Peaks Island Lions Club, is a lovely waterfront property and the theater is a "gem!" The setting is a 5 minute walk just to the right of the Peaks ferry landing, the lawn has plenty of picnic tables with sunset views of Portland. Take the 5:35 ferry to Peaks from Casco Bay Lines in downtown Portland, bring a picnic, enjoy the sunset, the lecture and return to Portland on the 8:45 ferry
