Artist /illustrator/bookmaker and picture book creator Henrik Drescher leaves no scrap of paper or visual idea behind! To work with him is to open your mind and your sketchbook, and then share with others to further turn your thinking around. SO much fun, not to mention learning specific bookbinding techniques from a pro. This class will be fast paced, energetic and lots of fun...trust us, we’ve seen him in action and can’t wait to have him back in town. Henrik’s partner Wu WIng Yee, also a stellar artist and potter, will join the class. Don’t miss the two of them!
Two 1/2 day workshops creating handmade books. Learn coptic binding, discuss idea and story lines, create 20 page signature to be copied & bound with all class signatures. Each student takes home a class book!

Peaks Island is accessible by ferry, a delightful 15 minute ride from downtown Portland. 7:45 am ferry from Casco Bay Lines, 3:45 pm return from Peaks. Those who need to take the 9:15 ferry from Portland not to worry, come on in, we'll just be getting settled. Lisa's Cafe, Hannigans Grocery & Down Front IceCream shop on island, taxi service available. 5th Maine is a short 10 minute walk from ferry, enjoy the wrap around porch, rockers and incredible view before or after class.
