Paul Clancy graduated Bowdoin College in 1975, alongside Bowdoin’s first female class. This included his wife Judi!
He then graduated the Tuck School at Dartmouth with an MBA in 1977, and worked for two years in public accounting as a CPA. After a brief stint in Internal Auditing at Hannaford, he joined Diversified Communications in November 1979 as Controller. He was promoted to Chief Financial Officer of Diversified Communications in 1985, where financial reporting, taxes, shareholder relations, banking, insurance, and legal were his principal areas of responsibility and achievement. Clancy retired from Diversified on December 31, 2014, but joined the company’s Board of Directors in January 2015, where he is still a Board member. He is the head (and sole member!) of the Audit Committee.
From 2000 to 2015, Clancy served on the Junior Achievement Board, including as chairman. Teaching Junior Achievement from 1995 to 2017 was one of his passions.
From 2017 to present Clancy has been Treasurer/Secretary of the Weatherburn Home Owner’s Association, a 49 unit housing community in Lexington, VA.
From 2019 to present he has acted as Treasurer of Harborside Condominium Association, a 14 unit community in Portland, ME.
Clancy spends time in Virginia where his daughter is head basketball coach at Washington & Lee University. His son is an IT guy located in Asheville, NC. He has two grandsons, ages 4 and 7. Clancy is a native Mainer, born in Portland, and attended a local public high school. He has lived on Peaks since 2008.
