An award winning children’s book author/illustrator, LeUyen has illustrated and written more than 120 books. Born in Saigon, Vietnam she attended the University of California, Los Angeles from 1991 to 1993, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1996 from the Art Center College of Design. After graduation, she worked as a layout artist at Dreamworks Animation from 1996 to 1999. She then quit to illustrate children's books full-time.
Collaborating with a variety of esteemed authors, her illustrated books have won a Caldecott Medal, and two Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Awards among others. LeYeun has illustrated several kids book series including Freckleface Strawberry books written by the actress, Julianne Moore, and the graphic novel series Princess in Black, Real Friends and Itty Bitty Kitty Corn with Shannon Hale. Pham lives in Los Angeles with the comic book artist Alexandre Puvilland.
